I came to Dubai in 1971 with Port Rashid's "Start Up" Team, intending to stay a couple of years. I stayed 30+ years working in Dubai's Ports (now DP World). During that time Old Dubai changed from small coastal trading town to internationally recognised Financial, Business, Trade and Tourist Centre. My "snapshot" photos of Old Dubai now have historical and nostalgic interest. I recovered faded "snapshots", negatives and slides with Photoshop CS, bought software from Project Seven and learned to build a website. Dubaiasitusedtobe.com is the result! The site will not be "all my own work". I hope friends and visitors are encouraged to look for their "dusty" photo albums and find photos of Old Dubai to add to the site. I hope you enjoy browsing and seeing Dubai as it used to be! Always pleased to receive comments and feedback.
