Bur Jurman as it used to be in 1972

This 1972 photo was provided by Ken Howell (UK). Photo was taken where the first major shopping mall on Dubai side was to be built. In 1972 this area was desert - no roads or buildings. Hard to imagine in 1972 that 30 years later Designer Goods would be sold where there was only sand and palm trees.

PS Ken provided the photo but not an explanation as to why he was climbing a Palm Tree. Maybe there was no nearby wall he could climb!
