Dubai 1985 Port Rashid has been extended to 34 Berths Deira Coastline has been reclaimed. Hyatt Regency Hotel is the only buildong on the new land. Surround the hotel is the road network used for 1981 Dubai Motor Racing Grand Prix Dubai Airport is "out of town" with a single runway. Dubai's Trade Centre is established Al Maktoum Bridge is still the only way to drive across the Creek. Merchant Warehousing later to be removed to accommodate a new road. Warehouses from the old Customs Area remain in place. Later to be removed to make way for the Corniche Zabeel Palace and Village Sheikh Mohammed's Palace Sheikh Ahmed of Qatar's Palace Road to Hatta Dubai Country Club and Polo Club

Dubai is changing slowly

Nearly 20 years have passed since the discovery of oil. Dubai had not changed significantly in terms of its layout. Diera coastline has been recovered and Dubai's road network extended to include Al Garhoud Bridge. Dubai Airport still has only one runway but Port Rashid has established and expanded. Diera and Dubai have not expanded much beyond their 1970 boundaries.
