Dubai's Chicago Beach Village as it used to be in 1985

Dubai's Chicago Beach Village 1985

Chicago Beach Village

This 1985 aerial photo shows how CBV was laid out. A neat and ordered road system is surroounded by equally neat and ordered single storey family homes. CBV was a gated community in the style of similar communities popular in USA. CBV was designed to appeal to the many American Oil and Gas workers arriving in Dubai to support Dubai's "Oil Boom". At that time CBV was located out of town and soon developed into a self sufficient beach side community. CBV was demolished to make way for Madinat Al Jumeirah.
