"Back in Dubai", "Life in the Emirates" were songs written in Dubai in the 1980s. They were instantly memorable! Today many ex-Expats can still sing these songs without much prompting!
Patrick Brady was 16 when he was given his first guitar. Soon he was lead guitarist/vocalist with Irish Band "Cromwell". They toured Ireland and released an album – "At The Gallop" plus a string of singles, notably "Guinness Rock" and "You Got it Made".
After Cromwell broke up, Patrick Brady and Michael Kiely formed The Establishment. They became the Resident Band at Dubai's newly opened Hilton Hotel in 1980s. The Duo wrote and sang songs about expatriate life in the Gulf Region. They developed a large expatriate following. Later The Establishment split up. Patrick continued performing as a solo artist in Five Star Hotels around the Gulf Region before moving to Australia in 1990 where he joined The Irish Drovers. He toured Australia for many years while maintaining a residency at Sydney's Hilton Hotel. Patrick later set up his own show –The Patrick Brady Irish Spectacular - performing in top clubs in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. He has released two CD’s – "The Irish Rover" and "Dreaming of Ireland", appeared on Australia's TV Channel 9 and the final of Australian Idol.
