Port and Police Dignatories await Sheikh Rashid's arrival open the new Container Terminal

Sheikh Rashid opened these curtains to declare Port Rashid Container Terminal open.

The Commemorative Stone remains at the entrance to Port Rashid Container Terminal but is not open to public view.

Port Rashid was managed and operated by Dubai Ports Services, a subsidiary of Gray Mackenzie International. DPS was the forerunner of privately owned Terminal Operators and set a model for the development of DP World which is now the 3rd largest Terminal Operator in the World.

Sheikh Rashid toured the Port Rashid Container Terminal.

Sheikh Rashid's tour was informal. He was accompanied by many of the Terminal Workers.

Sheikh Rashid is seen between two of Port Rashid's Staff - Mr Abdul Razaq and Mr Ali Hozaim. Both had worked on the Dubai Wharves before moving to senior posts in Port Rashid.
