Horse Show Jumping in Dubai as it used to be 1987

Dubai's first Show Jumping Event was held at the Dubai Metropolitan Hotel on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Football pitches were converted into an international standard show jumping arena

The event was opened by Princess Ann who was also an Olympic Show Jumper.

Captain Mark Phillips ( Princess Ann's then husband) also attended the opening

Arena was sand surrounded by the inevitable scaffolding stands. The event was open to all age groups of riders

Event was supported by participants from Oman

Event included local judges and sponsored events

The event was successful and was the first step towards Dubai becoming a major force in World Horse Racing and Competitions
